The City of the Village is a city within the city with its own government, programs, fire department, and police department. It's a great central location surrounded by two major highways for a quick commute to downtown OKC or Edmond; and N. May Avenue and N. Penn have all the shopping, groceries, and restaurant options you need. The City of the Village has several great parks, churches, and a community center for you to enjoy, and you can ride your bike to the Lake Hefner Trails. There are several great reasons to live in the Village including a discount prescription program and a recycling program that actually pays you money! Most homes in the Village were built in the 1950's and 60's, but in recent years new patio homes and new town homes have been built on the east side and new single family homes are being built on the west side with more planned. The Village is growing and real estate is booming. You can find homes anywhere from 700 square feet up to 3000 square feet depending on where you look within the city.
